Not too bad

Strengths: Nice looking case.

Weakness: Does not come with the generic battery pack but it is not a big deal.

Bought this for the many hard drive that was lying around. Case works great and is still working great. The battery pack can directly plug into the outlet without power cord like most of the external enclosure. Over all a sturdy case.

Nice Aluminum Enclosure

Strengths: Very Sturdy. Activity light on the front. Compact power cable. Easy to install.

Weakness: prone to static electricity. Heavy.

This is a very solid enclosure. The power cable has the transformer at the plug so you don't have a brick lying around. Its pretty heavy as enclosures go. Light on the front blinks with activity. It is very prone to static electricity. I keep getting shocked when I go to pick it up. There isn't a ground on the power plug but I have yet to see an enclosure that has one. I put a 750GB WD HD in it...

Great value

Strengths: Simple to add hard drive to. Good price

Weakness: Lacks decent airflow over drive

This hard drive enclosure is perfect for normal home use where it is plugged in occasionally. It is easy to install a hard drive in this enclosure and simple to operate. However it lacks decent airflow over the drive for usage over extended periods of time. If you need a drive to be plugged in and accessed constantly, consider an alternate enclosure with better airflow.

Cool running.

Strengths: Build quality (it's an Antec). Style. Easy setup. Indicator light on front.

Weakness: No fan... but that's what the MX-1 (more expensive) is for. Only SATA, not eSATA (again, see MX-1).

If you can get a good deal on this, go for it. Yes, this lacks a fan, but it is more than adequate in keeping your HD cool. This enclosure only supports SATA (not eSATA), so it is not future-proof.

Very nice external case

Strengths: Quality construction

Weakness: No fan

This is a very nice external case. It supports SATA drives which is the way to go nowadays. It only supports USB so it does not transfer data between drives as fast as a firewire or e-sata connection would. But USB is available on about every computer so taking your drive and hooking it up to another computer will work 99.99% of the time. Would be nice if the case had a cooling fan - but I have...

Antec MX-100 SATA Hard Drive Enclosure

Strengths: Antec quality, Silent, Inexpensive, Nice looking case

Weakness: Runs a little hot

This is a basic 3.5" external SATA hart drive enclosure. Antec makes excellent cases and enclosures and this product is no exception. My hard drive does tend to run hot while mounted in this enclosure. There are many good deals available for this drive with a mail in rebate. Highly recommended.

Fast Fancy HD Enclosure

Strengths: It is nice looking. There are no data and power cables required. It supports up to 1TB capacity.

Weakness: The design of powe supply is wierd. The location of switch is at bottom of the back side below power and usb cables. It does not support faster SATA transfer (3Gb/s).

It is pretty easy to set up. The only cable you need to hook up inside this enclosure is the front light. The enclosure is recognized by all my computers the first time I connect to them. I used this product mainly for data backup. Heat is never a problem to me because the product is only turned on whenever it is needed.

The MX-100 is an esthetically pleasing silent...

Strengths: Sharp looking. Sturdy. Quiet.

Weakness: none

The MX-100, part of the Antec Veris line, is a beautiful enclosure for your system. It's sturdy and stunning. The enclosure runs rather quiet. It features a heat sink rather than a fan and this accounts for it's silent operation. While there are many enclosures that can be had cheaper, this enclosure is pleasing to the eye and does an excellent job. Highly recommended to other buyers.

Solid performer

Strengths: decent construction, quite and sturdy

Weakness: runs a bit warm

Runs a bit warm. AC adapter only takes up one port unlike those bulky ones for other things. Very easy installation and smooth running. I would recommend it a very good entry level solution.

Stylish Antec Case again!

Strengths: Style, Small, Silver feeling and SATA

Weakness: Not SATA 3.0G, Still need extra power

Of course, it is quiet except the spinning of the hard drive, without any fan installed. Also it is smaller than the ones that have fan. Cannot feel too hot for drive. Wish it could support SATA 3.0G while most deals today are SATA 3.0G drives.Do not feel so good while downgrade the 3.0G drive to 1.5G. But easy installation. Really cool appearance.
