Another great Price/Performance Ratio Winner!

Strengths: The new 7600 of the 8 Series world, now with DirectX10.

Weakness: Could be a little more powerful considering the new diesize and architecture.

Just to keep in mind although I bought this because of the ability for the graphics card to produce and render DirectX10, this will in no way be able to power such things are Crysis, or any new powerhungry DirectX10 Games. From reviews I have seen DirectX10 does not seem to make much of a diffrence (yet) as you can see this is quite apparent in comparisons made in the game Bioshock. Personally I...

An excellent card

Strengths: Excellent video quality, dual monitor and DirectX 10 support. Fan is powered by the bus, not extra connections required.

Weakness: None to report

I was looking for a dual monitor card that supports DirectX 10, and after doing quite a bit of research I decided on this one. I am very happy I did, this card is great. It took my Windows Vista rating from 3.1, with the built-in card, to 5.2. I haven't tested any DierctX 10 games but Tron 2.0 (I know, it's old) which is DorectX 9 runs flawlessly.

Good affordable mid-range video card

Strengths: DirectX 10 support. Nice looking fan/heatsink enclosure. Very quiet small fan. No extra power required from power supply unless it is used in a SLI configuration. Dual DVI monitors support.

Weakness: 1 year warranty if unregistered; 2 years if registered within 30 days of purchase. Fan power cable hangs loosely on the board. Memory bandwidth limited to 128-bit. No HDCP support.

This affordable mid-range video card (~$95 after MIR) installed flawlessly in a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3P. The card works with various applications such as IE, Firefox, Word and Excel 2007, Media Player, Nero, various utilities, and low frame rate games. This card is not intended for high frame rate games as there will be momentary display freezes and stuttering. The card is short and fits in a PCIe...

this card in Ubuntu 7.10

Strengths: worked out of the box, Ubuntu asked i would like to enable the drivers from nvidia and boom I was working with a nice and quiet dual display (17

Weakness: none, just as of now I can't get the resolution to be smaller but thats probably to the fact that im using DVI-VGA converters and not DVI cables.

best bang for the buck, even though im a linux user, I may dual boot XP now that i have a gaming worthy graphics card for the first time ever...i\\\'ve seen benchmarks of this card running the newest games at a playable framerate.

Not the best but great for now

Strengths: Direct 10 support, dual DVI w/ DVI/VGA converters, solid performance

Weakness: confusing warranty

Sine I'm not a super gamer, I don't need a $300 video card. I bought this card for its price, performance, and support. One thing bothers me is its warranty, where the box said two-year warranty while everywhere advertises it lifetime warranty. eVGA is going down somehow. But anyway it's a good buy for my daily needs: gaming, watching videos, etc.

Low range video card good for HD video playback

Strengths: DX10 Support, Dual DVI, More PureVideo features than the 8800 series, Fans can keep the card running at optimal temperature with low noise, Low PSU requirement.

Weakness: Cannot game at higher resolution, No HDCP support

This budget card is recommend to those who likes to build HTPC and wants to game a little. I got this card for $37 AR. The PureVideo features are great for people who wants to watch HD Videos with a weak CPU, as it will offload the CPU during playback. The lack of HDCP support is a problem, but there are softwares out there that will solve this problem. DX10 feature is a plus for those wanting to...

Low cost, mid performance video card

Strengths: EVGA step-up program, somewhat overclockable, whisper quiet

Weakness: none

This video card gives excellent bang for the buck. Great for the casual gamer, you can get decent performance while 3d gaming. On top of that, this video card is extremely quiet. I've tried many other cards that were extremely loud which can be a big distraction. This card also comes with EVGA's 90-day step-up program where you can switch it out to a newer video card at a future date. 5 stars.

Excellent for price

Strengths: dual DVI ports, fairly quiet, no need to connect extra power connector from PSU

Weakness: Would be nice to have HDCP support I guess

I got this card for about $90 after rebate, which seems like an excellent deal to me. The performance is very good; I was able to run C&C3 at max settings 1024x768 (my monitor is really old) no problem. Don't really have any other games so I can't comment about that; I've heard you won't really be able to play the newest DX10 games out there though. It would have been nice to have HDCP and/or...

EVGA doesn't disappoint

Strengths: Nice, solid construction. Heatsink/fan feels expensive.

Weakness: None really.

For the price, this card is great. When i first took it out of the bag, the heatsink/fan unit fealt like is belonged on a 200+ dollar card. The last heatsink unit I had on a card (XFX 6600GT) I ripped off within 10 minutes and replaced because of the quality and noise. This unit's heatsink is silent and the fan speed control actually works. Yes another good job by EVGA.

EVGA 8600gt

Strengths: Cheap (95 dollars) Much more affordable than the 8600gts which is around 200 dollars. Can overclock to make up performance. Lifetime warranty upon registration. Without registration = 2 years.

Weakness: The card itself has been cripple with memory bandwidth. 256mb ram is good for most games today but alot are using that up quickly now.

The 8600gt is considered mid range video card. This is one of the first time nvidia midrange has not been as good as last generation higher end/mid range. For example the 7900gs is a tad better than this video card but lacks directx 10. This is why i chose this video card. Sure not much uses directx 10 yet but i dont want to have to upgrade again just for that feature. Good price can be found...
