PUR Replacement Filter

Strengths: It works, easy to use

Weakness: None found

These filters work with my PUR water filter pitcher. This is my first pitcher so I don't really have anything to compare with. Except with some bad reviews on more expensive Brita. Water seems to taste better (may that is perception because our tap water is not too bad) But buildup on the inside of the kettle seems to be less then before ( we bought new kettle almost at the same time as filters).

Yes it's Pur

Strengths: works as advertised, easy to install

Weakness: none

I'm an avid user of PUR filters. I try to purchase the 3 packs when they're on sale - so far they've never let me down. Water tastes better with the filter. Installation is easy; just twist the old one off, dunk the new one for 10 minutes then twist it on and fill 'er up. Short and sweet; minus the bad stuff.

Weakness: lacks replacement indicator of the CRF-950L

As far as I can tell, PUR tastes better than Brita. We started with the faucet mount filter, when that leaked after a year, switched to a Brita pitcher. Buying these normal price would be a bit on the steep side. However, occasionally Amazon do have good promotional sale on these and they are indeed quite affordable. We moved over to pur after we the water from our brita started tasting funny. No, it's not cause our filter was too old. We moved to a new neighborhood and the water quality wasn't as good as before. After switching to the PUR filters, the water no longer had a funny taste. It tasted like water - which shouldn't have taste. Pur Water Filter

Strengths: Cleaner water / better designed over brita

Weakness: n/a

Heavy Brita user for few years - have to say PUR pleasantly surprised me with design and quality - taste of the water as well - but this part is subjective. Like the fact that the filter locks into the container, the only thing I don't like - is it takes longer to filtrate over Brita. Highly recommended!

Weakness: Pricey. No more orange replacement indicator.

Comparing the specs for the PUR filter versus the Brita, it's apparent that the PURs do a better job. They are more expensive than the Britas, but I guess since they're more effective, they're worth it. (BTW, Amazon has the best prices on these). I purchased the package of replace water filter for my PUR slim pitcher. It's my second purchase and all those replacement I used worked very well as the original one in a pitcher package. You may see water filtered out in the pitcher slowly for a large amount of water, otherwise the filters are perfect.
