Sony VAIO N130G/W - Core Duo T2050 1.6 GHz - 15.4"...

Strengths: Excellent screen,works cool,performance,output ports

Weakness: weight, 2X 512 RAM that is hard and more expensive to upgrade the laptop

In this price it is a good choice for a laptop with features such as Intel® Centrino Suitability: A general-purpose notebook, suited for general mobile computing. Includes office-grade word processing software; whether you regularly create tables of content, elaborate footnotes, or complex newsletters this software can handle it all. Make your home movies zing by using the bundled video software...

Sony Vaio VGN-N130G/W

Strengths: Great Price, Nice Styling, Beautiful Screen, Good specs.

Weakness: Not "state of the art" but it suits my needs-web browsing, dvd playback, and word processing. Big size and somewhat heavy.

I was able to pick this unit up at Best Buy for $699.99. I am very pleased with the product so far. My original Sony Vaio laptop is 5 years old and still runs well. I just needed something a little faster than a Pentium 3-750mhz and wireless internet so I picked up this computer.

VGN-N130G/W

Strengths: Inexpensive. Nice cool looking

Weakness: Heavy, only two USB ports, less 3 hours battery working, DVD drive is relatively noisy

I'm generally impressed with the notebook. It's a nice-looking, well-built machine loaded with unique features and with a relatively light weight to boot for 15.4 inch. It manages to combine power and portability in a single package; it's not easy to find a machine that's both this fast and this light. If you're looking for a powerful but inexpensive for a sony, I think this would be good choice...

Sony VAIO VGN-N130G/W Notebook

Strengths: Very attractive looking, sharp and clean. Comes with 1GB installed. Vista upgrade, Very bright and & clean display, looks better than my desktop HDTV monitor and the res is only 1280x800, card reader

Weakness: Only 2 USB ports. When not using the max power setting for battery when not plugged in it lasts less than hour. No VGA out so no external monitor or S video, so no hooling this up to a TV neither.

Overall for the money I would say go with something else. You always pay more for the Sony name and it shows in the design of the laptop. Don't get me wrong it works great but for money... I only paid $654 After rebate with tax so it was worth it for me, but the lowest I can find it now is $799AR + tax $950 and that is too much with all of the other options out there.

Good Laptop at an affordable price

Strengths: display, price

Weakness: battery life, bulky

This is a great computer. The video quality is great and you won't believe how clear ant bright the screen is. It plays DVD's very well and due to it's two processors you can do other things at the same time and it won't be slow or stop responding. But battery life is not that great. I miss a PC Card slot however it has an Express card slot which is a better way to connect things to a laptop....

Sony Vaio VGN-N10G/W

Strengths: Nice display, cool white color, inexpensive for a Sony

Weakness: Heavy

This notebook is probably the cheapest type you could find from Sony. The comparable specs from HP or Dell will cost about 600-700 dollar. However, I am very happy with the display, built quality, and it looks. The only weakness I have so far is that it's kinda heavy, almost 7 lb, which is not typical for Sony notebook.

I've just fallen in love with my notebook

Strengths: Excellent screen quality, stylish looks and of course the blazing speed. windows open parallely.

Weakness: A bit higher on weight and a bit lower on battery, but surely, the Strengths overshadow the Weaknesses very well.

This piece of engineering is perfectly fit for those like me who wants to use the same system to do my office work when I am working from home, play DVDs with an extraordinary screen experience and run some high-end graphic games when I want to charge up. The widescreen suits me very well for my work where I need to have multiple windows open parallely. Also, I work on Remote Desktop very often,...

Good-looking laptop with good specs at a good price

Strengths: Very bright & vibrant LCD, good specs for the money, decent build quality, front-mounted SD & MS card readers

Weakness: No S-video out on a "Media Center" laptop, LCD resolution only 1280x800, lots of worthless software and ads pre-installed, battery life so-so

The VGN-N130G/W is a fairly large but not overly heavy laptop. The white top with engraved VAIO logo looks nice, although the keyboard seems a bit cheap. As with most Sony laptops, the glossy screen is very nice looking with great brightness & contrast and vibrant colors, although I'd prefer higher resolution than the max 1280x800. I'm surprised at the lack of S-video out on a Media Center laptop...

VAIO VGN-N130G/W Notebook (1.6GHz Core Duo T2050,...

Strengths: big screen, high configuration.

Weakness: none so far

I cannot believe such a high configuration sony laptop just sells at $800 average price. I remember sony laptop is very expensive. The outlook of this laptop is so so. It is good for big guys. It is very quick and user-friendly. Buying this laptop, you spend you money at the point.

Sony VAIO VGN-N130G

The Sony VAIO VGN-N130G proves that Apple isn’t the only company that can turn notebooks into design statements. Available in your choice of white, black, or like ours, wenge brown (picture coffee with too much cream), the minimalist, angular machine is intriguingly appealing.
