This thing does not work installed on my system running XP SP2 and I keep getting message "hardware not properly installed etc. I've installed and removed the program so many times still no luck, download latest drivers still nothing. I've even had numerous friends over who still can't fix the problem. I know that this unit works because it worked on my friends laptop (only place where it...
Strengths: Easy to install.
Weakness: None.
Excellent USB adapter 802.11 g , works with just about any access point, Linksys is a very reputable brand and excellent support. I purchased this form my Tivo but it didn't work.
Strengths: No need to worry about breaking the antenna like on the PCI card
Weakness: Weak signal strength Problems with mbps speed USB problems
DO NOT BUY!! In my carelessness my antenna broke on my old PCI adapter so i bought this USB adapter instead because it looked durable. I REGRET it ever since. I'm seriously cosidering repairing the antenna on the PCI adapter and selling the USB adapter on Ebay. The signal strength is poor, particularly if not on the same floor. The adapter often becomes “lazy”, speed will not stay high. It is...
Strengths: Easy to install, plug and play and the $10.00 off is also a big help to reduce the price
Weakness: bulky and expensive and does not work witj Tivo
Excellent USB adapter 802.11 g , works with just about any access point, Linksys is a very reputable brand and excellent support. I purchased this form my Tivo but it didn't work.
Strengths: Easy installation, good design.
Weakness: None.
This wireless network adapter was very easy to install and had great design. It was also was small and had great reception. Since it is USB, there was no need to open that case. All I needed to do was plug it into one of the USB ports. It might have been better if it had longer antena for even better reception.
Strengths: Very good speed. Easy and simple set up. Great range.
Weakness: none so far.
My first wireless adapter was Compaq. There was some problems using that. Since I got linksys USB adapter, there was any trouble with using it. Though the distance between router and adapter is around 20m and there are walls, signal strength has always been Excellent. And it was really easy to set up. If your OS is XP, you don't need to install any program.
Strengths: excellent reception, small profile.
Weakness: None.
My wireless router is on the second floor, and my network adapter is on the first floor, and from that distance the connectivity was decent so I was satisfied. The drawback is that at times, connectivity will drop even though neither the router nor the adapter were moved. I would not say that occurs very often.
Strengths: easy to setup. good price.
Weakness: causing my computer to crash; software not very flexible.
Overall, I am satisfied with this product. It suits my needs, and fits the bill. It is limited, however, in its software. It doesn't allow the user to disconnect without terminating the plug-in. I also have encountered a few computer crashes that only started once having installed this plug-in.
Strengths: -small and compact - USB compatable - fairly inexpensive - velcro adhedsive mount on bottom should you choose to use it - very easy and quick to set up
Weakness: - It didn't come out sooner!
This is my third Linksys product and I have not been dissatisfied yet. The Wireless G USB Adapter allows you to continue your quest for wireless connectivity and it works quite well. In my example, the USB adapter is in our downstairs bedroom; the router is in a computer niche in the upstairs part of the house. The reception is excellent. Set up time took LESS than 5 minutes including typing in a...

Linksys WUSB54G Wireless NIC Adapter
Strengths: Ease of installation
Weakness: None
The USB device was installed on a Windows XP laptop without a hitch. I do notice that the signal strength moves around from 54MB down to as low as 2MB even though the Linksys wireless router is but 30 feet away. Be sure to go into your Linksys wireless router and enable the security provision that allows only PCs with the listed MAC addresses. Take the MAC address from the USB wirelss box and...
