Description
Washington D.C. scientist Sebastian Caine (Kevin Bacon) is under contract with the U.S. government to formulate a serum which will render human beings invisible. When his test serum makes a laboratory gorilla disappear and then successfully brings her back, Caine decides that it is time for him to be the next guinea pig. He and his team are ecstatic when the serum work. When the antidote fails to work as it did on the gorilla, however, Caine finds himself in the initially enviable, but ultimately horrifying predicament of being permanently undetectable to the human eye. Faced with the opportunity to perpetrate any crime he desires without fear of apprehension, Caine gives in to his basest desires. But when he learns that his that his ex-girlfriend and assistant, Linda McKay (Elisabeth Shue), is involved with their fellow co-worker Matt Kensington (Josh Brolin), Caine goes over the deep end, and is willing to kill anyone who tries to stand in his way, including his trusted fellow researchers. Director Paul Verhoeven (BASIC INSTINCT) puts a contemporary spin on the classic INVISIBLE MAN tale, turning it into a funhouse-style stalk-and-slash film with some of the most impressive visual effects the screen has seen.

If I ever watch this movie again, I myself will become a Hollow Man. Tries to be suspenseful and fails. This film just gives me one more reason to think Kevin Bacon is a creep.
Good movie idea gone bad. They had special effects that were great and the idea of an invisible man is something you could really run with creatively, but Kevin Bacon was just creepy and Elizabeth Shue was annoying. The English chick who's name I dont know, whom Bacon surprised in her apartment is a hottie though.
I mean, the movie was kinda stupid and awful. But because Kevin Bacon was in it, and because he is so hot, I just have to rate it good....lol. A naked Kevin Bacon is welcome on my TV anyday...damn ! :)
You REALLY have to be a Bacon fan to enjoy this movie. The ending wasn't too bad and the last 30-40 minutes is not that bad as well but overall the movie was boring. The hints at a "god complex" for Bacons character were not subtle at all. It was more like they took a sledgehammer and whacked you in the face with it as they said "Remember, he has a god complex so he turns evil...
This movie is awful from the start. It opens with a couple of scientists chasing down a 500 pound, invisible gorilla without acting the least bit concerned. The villian of this story is a crazed, invisble and completely naked Kevin Bacon. I mean what the HELL! After sitting through the whole thing I can't figure out why this was allowed to be made or why it is called a thriller.
Great special effects, great sci-fi and Elizabeth Shue is hot.
An OK film. The movie had some supurb special effects, but the plot was lacking. It actually was good up until the very end when Kevin Bacon seemed to be superhuman, when in all actuality, he was simply invisible.
False Advertising, he wasn't hollow he was just like you and me! oh yeah, the movie sucked on the other hand so i'll give it twelve toes down. Hollow man, yeah right! i had my heart broken!
Despite awesome special effects, Hollow Man falls short of other films directed by Paul Verhoeven. This flick over time degenerates into a typical horror film.

Hollow Man [DVD] [Director's Cut]
Why is it that most experiments on humans makes them violent and murderers? Oh, I know, violence and murder sells. Duh, dumb me...
