Product Details of Spaceballs [DVD] [Widescreen; Movie Cash]

Description

In this spoof of STAR WARS and a handful of other sci-fi flicks from the 1970s and '80s, space-bum-for-hire Lone Starr (Bill Pullman) and his half-dog/half-man sidekick, Barf (John Candy), must rescue a spoiled Druish princess (Daphne Zuniga) from the evil Lord Dark Helmet (Rick Moranis) in time to pay off Pizza the Hut. With SPACEBALLS, director Mel Brooks is at it again, this time with a science-fiction parody with all the blue-screen special effects and weird makeup (though in this film, things are always slightly off-kilter and unpolished). Here, maverick space travelers set out to save the planet Druidia, which is being harassed by the Spaceballs, a sinister group attempting to pilfer Druidia's air resources. Among the many gags and jokes is a hilarious parody of a classic scene from ALIEN. Mel Brooks himself makes one of his funniest acting appearances as Yogurt, a send-up of THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK's Yoda.

Spaceballs [DVD] [Widescreen; Movie Cash]

Juvenile, and tiresome after the first half hour.

Spaceballs [DVD] [Widescreen; Movie Cash]

Mel Brooks does a great job, spoofing all the Star Wars characters. Pizza the Hut is the most innovative parady of Jabba the Hut I've ever. May the Schwartz be with you!! Anyways very funny movies, some flaws but nothing serious. Cheers

Spaceballs [DVD] [Widescreen; Movie Cash]

A very well done sci-fi parody. A few un-even moments but overall pretty good. "Let's go to ludicrous speed!"

Spaceballs [DVD] [Widescreen; Movie Cash]

The Winnebago spaceship, Barf (played by the late John Candy), and Rick Moranis's Dark Helmet left me in stitches! Mel Brooks is king of the movie parodies!

Another fantastic job by Mel Brooks. Rick Moranis is gold as the bumbling villain, Dark Helmet.  UPDATE: The Winnebago had a bumper sticker that read "I love Uranus"

Spaceballs [DVD] [Widescreen; Movie Cash]

One of Mel Brooks' worst films. I just don't get the humor in this movie--and I grew up on Star Wars.

Hilarious movie, from the comic genius of Mel Brooks. A must see for comedy or parody fans. Although a bit aged, this movie still packs a lot of laughs, and will crack you up from beginning to end.

Spaceballs [DVD] [Widescreen; Movie Cash]

It has some good laughs and deflates that puffed-up Star Wars genre. It really points out how stupid some of the Star Wars scenes really are!
