Weaknesses: Price for sure for a piece of plastic.
Review: I would have to agree with other postings that it should be included with the lens, especially considering the price of the lens. It seems to be quite flexable plastic so hopefully it won't break. I've mainly used it outside in sun light.

Review:  It was hard enough justify $1600 on a 70-200 2.8 VR lens, spending $5500 for a 200-400 F4 VR was out of the question. Still there are times when 200 isn't quite enough reach to get the picture you want. The $420 for a TC-17E was a compromise that I could live with. Strengths: Image Quality
Weaknesses: Range is only 40% more.
Review: Theres a reason those big Telephoto lens cost a king's ransom. This will give you the extra reach you want, without loosing much image quality. Much much better than the 2x TC by canon.
