Nice, small and great value

This is my second Western Digital portable hard drive purchase and must say i don't see much difference overall outside of the convenience in size killer price. Great for throwing into backpack or duffel bag going back and forth to work or school.

Not pleased at all

Strengths: Design, portability

Weakness: Durability

After years of being a complete Seagate fan, I purchased my first external drive. It worked fine for less than two weeks and then began making a cracking noise. I managed to retrieve my information in time. I changed it for the exact same model, this time it worked fine for a couple of months, then the cracking began and a few days later, it was impossible to recover the data.What happened with these guys? Yesterday I took the 1Tb model out of the box, brand new, and no machine was able to detect it.
