A good usb2.0 webcam

Strengths: USB2.0 for fast connection, perform well in low light, wide angle and clear video and picture

Weakness: None

I have been using this camera for almost 1 weeks and quite pleased with the purphase. The video is good and you can zoom in and out for wide angle or details. It performs well in low-light even I turned off the light and only kept monitor on, still can capture good video. It is a great webcamera and I highly recomended.

Great Webcam

Strengths: Extremely Clear, great color, very simple to use software

Weakness: If used with USB 1.1, image quality will suffer, Hope your computer has the USB 2!

I have been looking for a webcam for awhile so that me and my longdistance relationship can keep in better touch with one another. I love it so far, nothing really bad to say. Sometimes the Smarttrack function can be a little creepy since it zooms on something that it thinks is moving but if anything just turn it off.

Creative Webcam Live! Ultra

Strengths: USB 2.0 connectivity, 640x480 CMOS sensor, good photo and video quality, comes with a headset

Weakness: Can be a bit grainy in low light. Lower resolution sensor than the Logitech Quickcam 4000.

The Creative Live! Ultra webcam appears to be competing against Logitech's Quickcam Pro 4000. They have similar still photo resolution (1024x768 for the Live Ultra, 1280 x 960 for the Quickcam 4000). However, the Quickcam 4000 has a true 1.3 megapixel sensor, while the Live Ultra interpolates up from 640x480. As a result, I have found the Quickcam 4000 produces better still images.

Video quality wise, the two cameras are similar. The Live Ultra is a bit granier in low light; I'd give the overall edge to the Quickcam 4000.

This isn't a bad webcam by any means, but the Quickcam 4000 is the better webcam for the money.

Awesome Baby!

Strengths: USB 2.0. Easy to install. Face tracking. CCD image sensor.

Weakness: Doesn't stand firm on my monitor. A little pricey.

I've been waiting for USB 2.0 Webcam to come out, and this is it! And it has CCD image sensor instead of CMOS. I don't use the face tracking feature much, but when I tried it it's amazing. I will never go back to USB 1.1 CMOS webcams.

Creative WebCam Live! Ultra

Strengths: Wide zoom...allows more people in the shot.

Weakness: None

This little baby is awesome. The picture quality. The sound quality. It works like a several hundred dollar digital camera. Love how you can get more people in the shot. Clips on the monitor in a way where it doesn't make it look tacky! BUY ONE TODAY!

Great Product!!

Strengths: Great under daylights, very crisp picture.

Weakness: doesn't have the wireless or network connection.

I look this compact sleek design. The CCD and crisp picture are a plus!! If only this has network or wireless connection. I would recommened to anyone that is looking to buy a webcam.

white balance could be better

Strengths: Excellent image quality outdoor or under daylight. Wide angle is pretty useful to include everything. USB 2.0 although I am not able to tell the difference except possibly during video capturing.

Weakness: White balance is awful indoors. The picture can be quite grainy under limited light.

The camera somehow posts a weird yellowish color indoors. The whitebox adjustment doesn't help even set to incandescent -- actually it's pretty much the same with the auto mode. The color is also too much most of the time even after being set to natural -- the least "vivid" mode.
The image quality is on par with logitech 4000 pro outdoors, but the logitech is a lot better in handling white balance.
A handy function in the creative webcam center is you can upload pictures constantly to a ftp server, for instance, 1 shot every 15 seconds, then you will be able to access it using web browser. With yahoo messenger, you will even be able live broadcast the webcam to your family and friends. Overall, the software package is excellent.

Creative Live! Ultra Webcam

Strengths: excellent image quality, USB 2.0 support, wide angle and good video quality.

Weakness: some grainy pictures under poor lighting conditions

after comparisons, I decided to go with this webcam due to it's CCD sensor and I am very satisfied with the better image quality versus the other webcam models who do not use the CCD sensor technology. With the wide angle lens, you can capture more and it produces very clear image quality in daylight. It works perfectly with Yahoo Messenger. I would definitely purchase another one in the future.

Creative Live Ultra is superb in daytime!

Strengths: The creative does great job under day light. It has a wide angle. The pictures look crisper. Rotates 360 degrees.

Weakness: Some other product outscore this camera with no light.

Overall, this is a excellent webcam. Does all the jobs it is suppose to do. This Webcam provides great software and good video and picture quality for amateurs, but more-advanced users may crave additional settings and editing options.

Decent - but only for certain uses

Strengths: Good picture during the day, sleek design, works on LCDs

Weakness: CREATIVE SOFTWARE, bad picture at night, only works on LCDs, mounting could be improved upon

The strengths and weaknesses sum it up very well. If you plan on using this camera mostly during the day or in very well lit rooms, you'll like the picture results. Furthermore, if you have an LCD you'll appreciate that it hooks on easily. In addition to those two, the sleek design blends in with most LCD bezels.

The problems begin with the typical Creative problem - the software. Bloated and unreliable, Creative continues to reaffirm their stereotype. The hardware does have problems as well, such as the fuzzy and dim picture in poorly lit rooms, lack of CRT mounting ability, and loose attachment making it easy to knock the webcam off the top of the monitor.

Ultimately, for the prices as currently listed of $69+, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

A great webcam I ever used!

Strengths: CCD sensor. Wide angle Lens. Software face tracking. Real USB2.0 interface.

Weakness: Expensive.

This is one of the best webcam in the market. Comes with CCD sensor (this means great picture/video quality), wide-angel lens, and real USB2.0 interface. Some other webcams also state they're USB2.0, but that's not true. Those webcams can only get 640*480 video at 15fps, not 30fps. You should get 640*480 video at 30fps through true USB2.0 interface.

Thanks for the CCD sensor, the picture and video quality is really amazing, especially in the daylight. I like its wide angle lens very much too. You can see more and share more than other webcams. Also, a free headset is included in the package. A great webcam I ever used, highly recommend!

Excellent Web Cam

Strengths: Video Quality is good, photo resolution is good,Design, Looks Great. Software is straightforward. USB 2.0!

Weakness: I wish there was a way to clip in to an LCD. It will sit on top of an LCD, just not firmly.

This is one of the best webcams on the market. It is usb 2.0 and has excellent image quality. Another review mentioned conflict with TV Capture card however it works fine with WinFast PVR. Low price

wonderful webcam

Strengths: wide zoom, bright

Weakness: none

Before this wonderful stuff, we have been used two other brands (borrowed from classmates, so we can not rembermber the brands). These things are really sucks!
That is why I chose to pay more to buy a better one. It is a good experience. Our relatives in China got the clear image and bright backgroud even at night.
However, even it will take 30 frames per second, I feel the influency of the movement from the webcam. I wonder if this is due to slow network speed or the webcam itself

Not great for one person conversations

Strengths: bundled software is ok

Weakness: wide angle lens = fisheye effect unless zoomed in, grainy when zoomed, really bad white balance - you will look pink!

I'm pretty disappointed in this webcam. The wide angle lens is good if your whole family wants to get on - but if you're just one person chatting, the people you're talking with will see your entire room, plus there's a lot of fisheye-like distortion, bending the walls behind you. Yes you can use the zoom to lessen that effect, but then your picture gets very grainy fast, since it must be only a digital, not optical zoom.

Also the white balance is horrible. You have a few presets you can choose from - outdoor, indoor, etc - but they dont seem to do anything. I always appear very pink/magenta in the image. Not an appealing image at all!

It also has poor low-light tolerance, and the clip is very limited in functionality and can tip over easily when just resting on the base. If you clip it on-top your lcd, you'll look tiny because of the fisheye.

At the time I bought this it was still quite expensive, but I'm disappointed enough I'll buy another (brand). I will definitely look for one -without- a fisheye lens, since I really dont like the distortion.

Creative LIVE Ultra webcam

Strengths: CCD sensor and wide lens

Weakness: none found

CCD sensor gives it better image quality than most of the other webcams on the market. I ever planned to buy Logitech pro 4000. But I happened to find a good deal for this one, so I switched to it without any hesitate. I am pretty happy with it. Highly recommended.
