MPN: APS3636VR
Strengths: Great charger. Very fast on 100+Ah batteries. Connecting DC was very easy.
Weakness: Wiring the VAC in and out. The case is PLASTIC.The top is extruded aluminum, but everything else is plastic.
I would have LOVED to see a hardware kit for this to help with VAC wiring. I have done a lot of VAC wiring. Bending 10 gauge wire for the output and 12 gauge for the input was kind of tough in that small space. A HW kit that bolted to it and had all the wiring you needed would be a HUGE plus.
The case is plastic. I find this to be a negative. I am more then a little nervous to mount it vertically.
OK, I'm done with the negatives. I own the same type of tractor as another reviewer has. It uses 6, 6V @100+Ah deep cell batteries. The charger built into the tractor was doing a poor job, so I was looking at a new one. For a couple of bills more I got an inverter too. For a charger, it has been great. On its default charger setting (1/3 power) it charged the batteries in a couple of hours, where the one in the tractor took a DAY. I tested that the inverter was working, but I did not run any equipment on it yet.
I work out of my house, and I need to have power. I have a UPS for each computer I run, but the run time on battery is pretty low. This should allow me to continue running my work laptop and lights (CFL) for quite a while if the power goes out.
I give this item a 4/5, so close to 5/5, but I hate the plastic case, and wiring it was a pain.

Tripp Lite PowerVerter APS 3636 3600W UPS inverter...
Strengths: High powered inverter and battery charger.
Weakness: Have to hard wire the 120vac.
I have a 1973 General Electric, electric garden tractor that I am rebuilding. I needed a 30 amp 36 volt battery charger and thought, what if I also bought an inverter? Then I could run all my 120vac tools and appliances like my electric chain saw, weed cutter, vacuum, leaf blower, etc. right from my garden tractor without running an extension cord from my house. Then I found the APS 3636. This inverter met all my needs, electrically and physically. The 3-stage battery charger works with all types of lead acid batteries and so far the inverter has handled everything with ease. I highly recommend this inverter.
