similar to cod 2 with a few minor changes

Strengths: veteran level can really keep you busy. great graphics & sound improved multiplayer

Weakness: veteran level can really frustrate you. too much like cod2

Call of duty 3 is a good buy if you enjoyed cod 2. no real big leap forward, just a good first person shooter. They did add the use of vehicles but i could have did without that as well as the hand to hand combat sequences. But bottom line, I still put in the Recommended category, especially if you liked cod2.

cod3 - my cup of tea?

Strengths: pretty incredible graphics. authentic ww2 universe. decent enough voice acting.solid controlls.

Weakness: gow has made the cover system in cod3 seem dated. why cant i blind fire,leanout of cover,sprint,why is there a jump button? dumb ai at times. generall feeling of "im revolving around the action"

cod2 was, apparently, the best thing since banannas. i didnt buy it, i missed out . i was going to, but as soon as i heard how awsum it was, and its sequel was on the way, i said id wait. because it was probobally gonna be even better right? poo. my gf got me cod3 for christmass.initally, i was very impressed. the graphics are really quiete amazing,with alot going on around you .with suitible audio and a generall feeling of" holy sh*t, what do i do?" its easy to see what attracts people to the franchise.but after a while the candy effect goes away. kind of like, if u go out with a girl simply because shes hot. then after a while u start looking at the bigger picture, at wats important.her gameplay? no, u kno, the other stuff.and stuff starts to nag. like- for example, if this is world war 2, why is it possible for me to complete an entire level, without actually firing my gun? and it wouldnt be a stealth level either, its the first one, wer theres a full scale warzone.and worst off all-i get an achievement for it" for what? being a p**sy?
the action is great-the set peices are nothing speciall tho. sure theres the ocasional truck that crashes in front of u, with sploding barrels, but its so been done, and its come to be expected and its not even a teeny, tiny..bit-oh cool. its more like-oh, againn?it just kinda feels like the played the safe option here.
also i mentioned above, gears of war. ah gears. maybe ive been spoilt.or maybe, just maybe, im right. the firefights in cod3 dont feel like fire fights. inoreder to shoot out of cover , i either have to go from a relativley safe crouch (from behind something like a low wall) to a retarded standing straight up OR i can retardedly do a sideways crouch walk out of the cover, get shot, then do a crouched walk back behind the wall saying " this is stupid"
the enemy ai is alos at times laughable. one situation i was in made me actually put down the pad, i found it that funny. i ran into a room wer a troop was suppose to me manning a machine gun that i was told to sort out, only to find him pleasantly facing me instead. at first i thought he was one of mine. so ijust walked over. then he shouted somthing, and threw a grendade at me, which, being so close to him, completely over shott and threw it out the door instead. i waited for the bang. then looked athim for a bit, and shot him. compared to a locust in gears that proboally would have flanked, shot and literally sawed me in half by this stage, this is just stupid.


bottom line-buy gears instead.

CALL OF DUTY...AGAIN?!?

Strengths: GReat graphics and sound

Weakness: How many nazis can you kill before it gets boring?

If this is the first World War 2 first person shooter you play, then you will be hooked. Graphics and sound are amazing and really get you into the experience. The controls are decent, but a mouse and keyboard are still the best. I am personally tired of retreading the same gameplay and couldn't get too excited over this one. Multiplayer is fun, but nothing you haven't seen before. Rent it before you buy it.

Call of Duty 3

Strengths: Feels like you are actually in WWII Extremely fun multiplayer

Weakness: Seems like a continuation of the previous COD2 with not too much visual upgrade. Calling for a medic doesn't seem to do much.

I played this game for the first time a few weeks ago and the campaign seems to be more of the same based on the previous COD2. The story line is very engaging. In addition, multiplayer mode with 24 players is a blast. It can seem chaotic at times but I suppose that is what makes it fun. I recommend it if you are looking for a good "next-gen" multiplayer FPS experience.

CoD 3

Strengths: Graphics and Sounds

Weakness: Any big difference from CoD 2?

CoD series are excellent WWII games. They are fun and have smart AI. This CoD 3 is no exception. It is fun to play, graphics and sounds are fantastic. However, I don't see any big improvement from CoD 2. I think CoD 2 is the best WWII game so far.

Better than expected

Strengths: Very nice graphics Steady framerate 24 player multiplayer

Weakness: Loading times and cutscenes Cheap AI

I was little hesitant to buy the game since the original COD developer Infinity Ward did not develop this game, but the game still turned out to be very fun. Nice graphics with a steady framerate that rarely drops. 24 player support for online play which results in some really intense drawn out firefights.

Call of Duty 3 has good garphics and sound. However, like every other shooting game, there is not much new compared with the previous version. I recommend buying a used one rather than a new one.

Just Keeps Getting Better

Strengths: Graphics, game play

Weakness: Similiar to CoD 2

Once again the Call of Duty series delivers a beautiful game with loads of action. Call of Duty 3 is very similar to Call of Duty 2 and that is not a bad things. A few control functions have been changed, but in no way does this affect gameplay. The graphics continue to get better as the series continues. The World War II experience has had it's share of mishaps, but CoD 3 completely delivers and is a must have for Xbox 360 owners.

Weakness: Game play just doesn’t seem as fun as COD2 (just my opinion at least).

Loving Call of Duty 2 I definitely had to pick up COD3. The graphics and sound are definitely a step up. When first playing it you will notice that there is a lot more going on at one time (explosions, enemies, etc). The overall game play is fun but for some reason I don’t find it as exciting as COD2. Something that kinds of annoys me is the fact that at times it appears you are in cover and safe from gunfire but you’re not. This has forced me to start over at the checkpoint several times. Overall it is a great game but owning Gears of War I just don’t feel like playing it anymore. I would suggest renting the game first.

Call of Duty 3: The Review

Strengths: Gameplay, Graphics, Online play

Weakness: Length, Online Interface

Call of Duty 3, the sequel to the hit game Call of Duty 2 that came out during the Xbox 360 launch, lives up to the hype in every way. As you know the game is set in Europe during World War 2. It depicts the war very well, the gameplay is very fun, the sound effects are just flat out amazing. The graphics are very improved over Call of Duty 2. Though I wish the story could have been a little longer, it was still very fun and I enjoyed every minute of it. Online play is one of the best you can find on the Xbox 360, lots of players, and lots of mayhem! Though the interface can use some work, it is still very good. Overall I loved Call of Duty 3, one of the better games on the system.

More great world war 2 action

Strengths: Even better graphics than the first, still incredible sound

Keeping with the same excellent game as last year and adding better graphics and more diverse situations, Call of Duty 3 makes you again feel like you are in the middle of World War 2. The graphics have many effects and details that create the setting. The sound is almost overwhelming as bullets and explosions come from everywhere. Even when you're not playing through the campaign, the multiplayer is outstanding. With the different classes of soldier, numerous vehicles and locations, and so many players battling, this will keep you busy for months.
