MPN: KSB560OB
Strengths: Powerful. Great ice-crushing.
Weakness: Sucks in air bubble in thicker concoctions. Having a built in blade makes cleaning a little more difficult.
I use my blender primarily to make smoothies with frozen fruit. My Oster crapped out on me and I decided to get something a little more pricey in hopes of getting a better product. Well it is probably a better blender overall, but the one thing I was hoping to fix, it did not.
When I make smoothies and put too much frozen fruit in, it sucks an air pocket down to the blades so that the blades spin freely without touching my mixture. This was the problem with the Oster, and apparently it is a trouble for even the nicer blenders. After adding a bit more yogurt or juice, however it produces a very smooth drink.
It's ice crushing capabilities are great. I tried one day just filling it up with ice and no liquid, and it actually turned it into a shaved ice type consistency with a little help pushing it down toward the blades occasionally.
Mixing margaritas or other frozen drinks creates a great textured cocktail.
The control panel is very efficient and user friendly. The ice crushing button times the pulses for you, so you don't even have to do any extra work.
Cleaning would be a little easier if you could take out the blade.

TopStrengths: Quieter than my other blender that I had; lightweight jar; dishwasher safe; powerful
Weakness: None that I have found yet
I bought this blender after my Cuisinart failed several times. This blender is powerful and does all I need it to do. I love having the pourable pitcher. I have started using this to mix my pancake mix now and then just pour the batter on the griddle from the pitcher. My only difficulty that I have is winding the power cord around the base.

TopStrengths: Blends and purees quickly. Hot tomato based soups and sauces do not cause pitcher to stain. Very sharp blades.
Weakness: Difficult to reach pitcher bottom for cleaning by hand.
This is a powerful and relatively quiet blender. The blades are very sharp, which is obviously a quality one looks for in a blender (this can be a drawback when one's hand is down there for cleaning). KitchenAid claims that the pitcher is dishwasher safe, but I have had poor experience with items that claim to be dishwasher safe. Top comes off easily and seals well. Motor seems quite strong--the base is quite heavy and solid.

TopStrengths: IT DOES EVERYTHING IT PROMISES AND MORE.
Weakness: NONE
I BOUGHT THIS BLENDER BECAUSE I WAS NOT SATISIFED WITH THE BLENDER I'D BEEN USING FOR A LONG TIME. I BUY A LOT OF KITCHAID APPLIANCES BECAUSE OF THEIR PERFORMANCE LEVELS AND THIS BLENDER IS ANOTHER MEMBER OF THEIR GREAT APPLIANCES. I RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE WHO WANTS A GREAT BLENDER.

TopStrengths: Nice looking, Easy-cleam controls, leight weight pitcher, power full...
Weakness: Noisy
Except the loud noice (i think all blenders are noisy), I really like this blender. It has a powerfull motor..So its very quick and perfect blending. Controls are very good. Pitcher is very light weight.

KSB560OB Polycarbonate Pitcher 5-Speed 0.9hp Stand...
Strengths: powerful, blend well, nice looking
Weakness: possible of leak at the bottom, noisy. Polycarbonate container is too light
I recently purchased Vita-mix 5000 and i decided to get this Kitchen Aid to compare. If this Kitchen Aid blender can perform 1/2 as well, I will keep it and return Vita-mix. The answer is no. Here is why. The Kitchen Aid will blend strongly but the container is too light. It doesnt have an attached base like the Vita-mix ones. Therefore, when you blend at full power, it seems like the container keeps trying to jump out of the blender. You will need to hold it to be safe. The other thing that i am not happy is the bottom where the blade attached to the container. It's a plastic connector and I dont think it will hold for long if you use it everyday at full power. it's probably why Kitchen Aid only gives 1-year warranty for this blender. For those 2 reasons, i am returning this and keeping the Vitamix. If you dont use it heavily everyday and dont have $400 to spare, this blender will do fine.
