Good for only home printing.

Strengths: 4X6 pictures look ok. bluetooth connection.

Weakness: Not good for large pictures, ink expensive.

I got this for my home office, I was disappointed with this (retailed at $99.99) printer. This printer should be sold for about $20, no more. It’s fine for printing daily web, or directions, or even 4X6 prints. But anything larger will look bad, if you set it on superfine your ink will be gone in no time. Bluetooth capability is fine, make sure you have a Bluetooth adaptor. I was easily able to connect my palm with it to print. I will be switching to a different more higher res. printer, according Toms hardware canon is a ink hog, and are trying to make more money on ink than the printer itself. No wonder when it comes to ink on this printer you might as well buy a new printer to save you the cost of ink when I'm done with this printer I'll eBay it.

Excellent Quality Prints

Strengths: Quality,Price(after rebates),ease of install

Weakness: pict bridge functionality

Easy printer to setup and install.Took me a little time to actually start printing pics, but overall an easy and user friendly interface. Print quality is excellent!!(I would expect nothing less from Canon).I haven't checked in very far yet,but when I tried to print directly from my Fuji finepix E510 digicam using the pictbridge functionality(which is pretty much an industry standard)it told me it was an unsupported camera..hmmm. Pleasded with the printer though

Near Professional Photo Prints without Spending A...

Strengths: Low cost; High resolution; It takes most memory cards and can print directly without a computer; Bluetooth USB port eliminates USB wires; Automatic head alignment; Software-assisted duplex printing.

Weakness: On-printer LCD screen too small and menu navigation is a bit confusing; It can be loud, even in quiet mode; Some paper types shown in Printer Preferences setting are unheard of.

Cost: Considering the rebate, the total cost for me to own this printer is only around $40, some $100 less than an average HP DeskJet I bought 6 years ago.

Exterior: The iP6210D isn't a compact size printer. It fits in a home office nicely. The top of the printer tilts toward you. All the buttons are spread out evenly on top of the printer so that you can easily operate on them. The LCD screen, however, locates further away on top and is too small to see the display easily. The power plug and USB 2.0 port are located on the back of the printer. The other USB port reserved for Bluetooth adapter is located at the bottom right corner of the front side. This Bluetooth port is designed to accept any thumb-size Bluetooth USB dongles. However, it sits in a cave and is too deep for my Bluetooth dongle to reach. Thus I had to use a USB extension cord to connect the Bluetooth dongle.

Setup: It is fairly easy to set up the printer and install the driver and utility software. Note that the printer driver can only be installed while the printer is connected via a USB cord. I simply borrowed the cord from my old printer. After the driver is installed, I no longer need the USB cord, because I then plugged in Bluetooth adapter and added the printer (turned on) as a Bluetooth device. It created an additional printer which I set to as default. On the Printer Preferences page, there are tons of options and maintenance features. Some of them are also available via the printer's own menu. I like the auto alignment feature, as the printer is smart enough to print patterns and then retract the paper to scan and analyze the result in order to perform alignment. I also noticed that the printer does a lot of preparation actions before actually printing out a page, so it could be noisy, even in quiet mode.

Printing: Once setup, I tried the printer with plain paper and true border-less on 4x6 photo paper. The result is very satisfactory. I also enjoyed using Canon's Easy PhotoPrint software and Easy WebPrint browser plugin. The Easy WebPrint claims to be an IE plugin, but it certainly works for any application that issues a print command. It is certainly a nice and easy way to perform final proof before the actual print work. It also helps you with manual duplex printing, provided that you select the option in Printer Preferences page. I wish the Easy WebPrint would allow changing those preferences on the fly. Also I hope the next update of Easy PhotoPrint could allow custom paper size as well.

Accessories: The 2 three-ink cartridges are very new (up to March 23, 2006) on the market. Canon seems to be moving away from the traditional separate-ink-and-print-head approach, and starts to embrace the all-in-one design. For consumers like me, it means more expensive replacements, since I can't just buy one color when it runs out. I would have to buy all new 3-color cartridge with print head together. And the after-market generic version of these 2 cartridge models are not being mass produced yet (up to March 23, 2006). But giving it some time, I believe those productions will catch up.

Overall: It is a nice, inexpensive, all-purpose home office printer that offers flexible connection, high-quality border-less photo prints and feature-rich software bundle.

Another disposable printer

Strengths: Cheap price

Weakness: Expensive ink

I bought this Canon iP6210D for $60 with $50 worth of rebates, so my after tax and rebate cost was about $15. It comes with two ink cartridges that sell separately for $60. I'll use this for home printing needs and when the ink runs out I'll get $6 credit on the empty carts at Office Depot or somewhere and toss the printer in the recycle bin. That'll make my total printing cost with this one about $9.00 including tax. I've got a stack of other $10-20 printers waiting in line to replace it.

It's really a huge waste, but it's cheaper than buying ink refills!

iP6210D Photo Printer

Strengths: Nice quality prints, easy to install and use.

Weakness: Ink goes fast and is not cheap to replace. No separate color ink tanks. Takes a bit to warm up.

Overall, a very nice printer. The photo quality is very good once the printer gets warmed up. This item was $99.99 from the place I purchased at, but after a price matched to NewEgg and the rebate, it is a steal! I would definitely recommend this photo printer for basic home use. Careful though, the ink does go fast and is a bit expensive to replace!

nice printer

Strengths: Nice text and picture print quality

Weakness: none

This is a small and light printer. It produces nice picture print. With Canon photo paper, family photo appears to be very nice, and it is the same or even better than you can get form walmart or walgreens. The text print quality is also good. I'm very pleased with this purchase.

It is also quiet compared with my old epson printer.

Nice Printer, Great Price

Strengths: the quality of the prints are really good. easy to setup and is a very good price.

Weakness: no usb cable included, expensive cartridges

for the price and the rebate, I doubt there is a better cheap printer deal on the market. A great printer for the non techie person who just wants a good looking photo or has occasional print needs. And or course, it's a Canon, and their stuff is GOOD...

Good printer

Strengths: Value, Ease of use, Quality of photos

Weakness: no dedicated black ink cartridge

This is a good little printer for a descent price. It makes nice photos on the glossy 4x6 photo paper that it comes with. It has a built in multicard reader that works well with the different types of media I've tried. (SD,CF) It prints normal size paper, unlike some photo printers.

Solid Performance

Strengths: Small and light. Easy to use. BT ready.

Weakness: none.

I bought this printer mainly for photo printing. The print quality is as good as the retail store such as, Wal-Mart and Walgreens. The print speed is decent too. It also support direct print from camera or media. Bluetooth function is another plus.

I would recommend this printer to people looking for a budget photo printer with high quality printing.

Nice Photo Printer with Crisp, Clean Images

Strengths: Very high quality photos, decent speed, nice price (esp. after rebate)

Weakness: none so far

This printer is the first photo printer I've owned, so it may be a bit hard for me to offer a comparison. However, in comparison to all the other inkjet printers I've owned, it blows them all away by far. Over the years I've owned various HP deskjets and officejets. My current (and newest) deskjet takes about ten minutes to print a 4 X 6 photo at highest quality. The new canon takes under a minute, and the quality is much better, almost as good as from a photo shop. I have pretty decent vision, and normally I can see the tiny dots of ink from other printers, but from this one I would probably need a very strong magnifying glass.
I also purchased a canon a610 camera, and just slipped the SD card right into the printer, quick and easy.
Along with the high quality photos, I can also print regular documents on full size paper. Also, I like the price, after rebates, nearly free!
I have yet to try some other things with it, but for now overall, I would give this printer a 9 out of 10.

canon ip6210d

Strengths: print quaility, memory card reader

Weakness: ink! ink!! ink !!!

The PIXMA iP6210D Photo Printer combines beautiful image quality with exceptional printing versatility. In addition, I am surprised to see that it comes with a built in flash memory card reader!!!
But as for the price of the printer, you really couldn't ask more. My only wish is the ink catridge would last longer, or the replacement ink wouldn't be that expensive.

Canon PIXMA iP6210D

The Canon PIXMA iP6210D is a basic color inkjet printer intended mainly for photo printing use. It does not have an LCD display like the earlier iP6000D, but it does have different modes that can reduce red-eye and highlight facial regions. It has more nozzles, a total of 2304, and still uses 6 different color cartridges. The cartridge design is supposed to be economical, since the cartridges are...
