TDK 16x DVD-R

Strengths: The DVDs have an easy to write on gray top surface, and the container latches securely closed.

I use two different DVD drives. An HP dvd635i and a Nec nd-3550A. Both drives had some difficulty with this media. I ended up with four out of 22 as "coasters".
I like the TDK brand and have used them for years, back into the 5.25 floppy disk days.
I will try recording at a lower speed, but in general, this media is a disappointment...

TDK 16x dvd-r

Strengths: Nice surface for writing on. 16x speeds! Great price!

Weakness: NA

Really nice having a new burner that burns 16. Before I had a X burner and it took 45 min to burn a disc.. Now it only takes 5 min.

Works Great

Strengths: Fast, Good Quality, Great Value

Weakness: None so far.

4.7GB DVD-R burns at 16x on Lite-On SHM-165P6S DVD Burner, took only 6 minutes using Nero Burning Rom 6. Error-free so far. Some older burners and dvd drives may require the latest firmware to properly read/burn to these discs. I would definitely recommend these DVD-R discs especially if you have a newer burner with 16x burning speeds.

Reliable TDK Product As Always!

Strengths: High quality of manufacturing, as you can always expect from TDK. Burns at 16x speed.

Weakness: None

I have had other TDK DVD media formats and they all are equally great. If you want the best quality and reliability, don't look elsewhere for DVD-R discs. Buy this and you will be very happy!

TDK 100pk DVD-Rs

Strengths: Do their job well, fast with proper burner, inexpensive.

Weakness: None

Work as expected. They are fast if you have a 16X burner and I haven't had any issues with them. Highly recommended as they work perfectly on my 16X NEC ND-3550A Burner.

Burn Baby Burn

Strengths: Good quality what else do you want?

Weakness: It might be pricey sometimes so shop around for the best price.

TDK is one of the best brand of Storage Media i have used. i primarily use it to burn movies. No coasters at all. if you have a highspeed burner and a good burning software this product is their best friend.

Good DVD's

Strengths: Fast - few duds.

Weakness: none

Its worth it to pay slightly more for the 16x speed. What a difference it makes. There are no duds so far, all disk's burn without problems. and the 100 spindle is so much moe economical.

Reliable DVD-R's

Strengths: Writable up to 16x and can easily label them with a marker.

Weakness: The surface for these DVD's was grey and somewhat slippery compared to other TDK DVD's that I've purchased in the past. It was different writing on them with permanent marker, but still fine.

I've never had any issues with these disks...they almost always burn without a single error and at the very most I might have 1 or 2 frisbees/coasters per a spindle of 100. I think that's pretty good. I use a Sony external DVD burner, by the way, and it takes TDK media just fine. This is my first time using DVD-R's...and I was pleased that they work just as well as the DVD+R's that TDK also makes.

Strengths: Good quality, reasonable price

In most of the cases my plextor DVD burner can reach its max burning speed (16x) with no problem and the failure rate is low, the quality of TDK DVD-R is good. Also its price is very reasonable for 16x DVD-R.

Good media

Strengths: Burns quick and reliably

Weakness: None that i am aware

Ive used about 300 of these and have only had maybe 2-3 bad burns, which were my fault, because I tried to burn 2 disks in 2 drives at the same time. They are considered class 2 media, only way to get better is possibly with sony or similar brand.
