Hollow Man

Why is it that most experiments on humans makes them violent and murderers? Oh, I know, violence and murder sells. Duh, dumb me...

Hollow Man

If I ever watch this movie again, I myself will become a Hollow Man. Tries to be suspenseful and fails. This film just gives me one more reason to think Kevin Bacon is a creep.

Hollow Man

Good movie idea gone bad. They had special effects that were great and the idea of an invisible man is something you could really run with creatively, but Kevin Bacon was just creepy and Elizabeth Shue was annoying. The English chick who's name I dont know, whom Bacon surprised in her apartment is a hottie though.

I mean, the movie was kinda stupid and awful. But because Kevin Bacon was in it, and because he is so hot, I just have to rate it good....lol. A naked Kevin Bacon is welcome on my TV anyday...damn ! :)

Hollow Man

You REALLY have to be a Bacon fan to enjoy this movie. The ending wasn't too bad and the last 30-40 minutes is not that bad as well but overall the movie was boring. The hints at a "god complex" for Bacons character were not subtle at all. It was more like they took a sledgehammer and whacked you in the face with it as they said "Remember, he has a god complex so he turns evil later". It was misplaced and treated the viewer as stupid. The lead time into the good parts of this movie just goes too long and offers very little. If the first hour was good like the last 40 minutes I might rate it a 3 or a 4 but being a half movie gives me no cause for better than a 2.

Hollow Man

This movie is awful from the start. It opens with a couple of scientists chasing down a 500 pound, invisible gorilla without acting the least bit concerned. The villian of this story is a crazed, invisble and completely naked Kevin Bacon. I mean what the HELL! After sitting through the whole thing I can't figure out why this was allowed to be made or why it is called a thriller.

Hollow Man

An OK film. The movie had some supurb special effects, but the plot was lacking. It actually was good up until the very end when Kevin Bacon seemed to be superhuman, when in all actuality, he was simply invisible.

Hollow Man

This film adds a few more moves to the Kevin Bacon game, but that's about it. This movie has no chilling aspects, and does not properly convey fear. The film's premise is highly unbelievable, and the conditions under which some of the key plot developments are made are unbelievable as well. Bacon's character goes from being arrogant to being a psychotic homicidal maniac in one scene. After Bacon's psychosis is revealed to his supporting characters, the movie becomes a cheap slasher flick with a predictable and highly unrealistic ending.

Hollow Man

Hollow Man is a movie that was enjoyable in some scenes, and embarrassing in others. The fact that Elizabeth Shue is still acting was great, but Kevin Bacon is a total fool and is a jerk, and doesn't know how to act for beans.

Hollow Man

Wow, this is just a bad movie. I have to confess that I rented it, in large part, just to see the bit part by Rhona Mitra, a stunningly beautiful actress whose name you probably won't recognize (she was on the TV show "Party of Five" for awhile, and that's where I saw her). Anyway, since I'd heard the movie stunk, I didn't expect too much, so I wasn't upset when the movie turned out to be uninspired, predictable, and essentially devoid of the suspense you'd expect from a so-called "thriller." I'm giving the movie two stars, though, because the special effects are pretty well done.

Hollow Man

Ugh! The premise of this movie is compelling..the invisible man..blah blah blah. However, Hollow Man just doesn't cut it. The special effects are sometimes impressive, but the content (plot, acting, etc..) are as invisible as Kevin Bacon. As the plot lessens, so does the clothing on the women in the movie. I guess they decided to rely on gratuitous boob shots rather than put some actual thought into the making of this movie. I will admit that there were some (few) suspenseful moments..but about halfway through (if not sooner) the movie becomes so predictable and the ending is so over the top it is ridiculous. Don't waste your money or 2 hours of your life on this bomb.

No need to watch the movie if u've seen the trailer, which shows the best part already. The visual is cool, yet the plot is weak. Although Shue gained a little weight but she's still worth seeing for.

Hollow Man

Hollow Man is a perfect movie to rent. The four stars is based upon renting it (I don't think I would have felt the same if I had paid $8 and motivated to the theater to see it). It stars Kevin Bacon and Elisabeth Shue who are two actors I enjoy. The plot is based on a group of scientists who are trying to make someone invisible and (this is the challenging part) to then make them visible again and in one piece with no complications. They had tried on animals and then Bacon's ego gets involved and wants to be the first person to be invisible. Well, as I am sure you guessed, he gets a little too excited about being invisible. The other scientists have to try and capture Bacon but it is pretty difficult since he is, well, invisible. The special effects were impressive, I thought. The acting was okay. The plot has been done before but this one had some unexpecting turns. It is just a perfect movie to rent.

Hollow Man

All flash, no substance. Looks like the pervert wanted his set fantasies acted out in front of him and then decided to write a plot around the scenes. The film could've been profound but instead it ws superficial, poorly put together, and basically the epitome of the TRASH that is churned out by Hollywood presently. It's sickening.

Hollow Man is definitely a movie you want to watch at the theaters, because the plot is very much like some movies of the past (i.e. Invisible Man). Even though the idea of the movie is old, the picture and graphics of this movie is quite amazing. Everything is comupterized. Definitely recommended for people into good special effects.

The special effects hardly make up for what the movie lacked in plot. Besides, it promotes animal cruelty (I overheard someone saying that the movie sucked, but the "coolest part" was when a dog's head was crashed against the wall... I bet they went home to try it.).

Hollow Man

OK, if you love special effects and aren't a stickler for plots that make sense, this movie might be worth your while. The effects were cool; however, in my humble opinion they weren't enough to save this movie. First off, to be an Academy-Award nominated actress, Elisabeth Shue can't act her way out of a paper bag. Her facial expressions and body language are believable, but it's the delivery of her lines that blows it...she sounds like she's reading straight from the script. OK, second complaint: way too much violence against animals. I know animal testing is a gruesome reality that we should all be aware of, but this movie really shoves it down your throat in a very disturbing way...basically, the scientists test the invisibility serum on animals (including primates) before testing on people. They turn about 8 primates to goo before they finally get it right, and we get to see not-very-pleasant pictures of gorillas with their intestines all hanging out...horrible. THEN, when Sebastian (Mr. Invisible Jerkface) loses his temper with the poor invisible doggie...I almost walked out of the theater. As for the plot, it was soooo weak, and the characters were annoying...they kept clocking the bad guy on the head, then walking away like they thought he was dead...NOT! Then they would act all surprised when he jumped out at them. And, does invisibility also give superhuman strength? The invisible guy picks up a guy who is like 100 pounds bigger than him and throws him across a hallway, smashing his head into a pipe with enough force to kill him. I know angry people can be strong, and invisibility would give you a definite advantage, but sheesh...he kicked everyone's ass without even having to try. The movie just turned into a gory bloodbath and didn't really explore the possibilities of being invisible. I must say, tho, that Kevin Bacon is a good actor because he can portray a real dirtbag just as well as he can portray a good guy.
