This does not perform as stated by the manufacturer...

Strengths: The unit is sleekly styled, not too heavy

Weakness: Does not cool a large room effectively, hoses pop off when moved, LCD display is separating(I will provide a pic of this)

I bought this unit after doing a lot of research to find a portable AC powerful enough to cool a 400 sq ft room in my home. I'm very disappointed, and I do not believe this could possibly be 14000 btu's. It will spot cool, but does not effectively cool the room - it does not blow really cold air. Also, the manual does not really explain how to set the timer on the unit. My requests for customer service have gone unanswered, and I'm not impressed by that.
In short, it is my opinion that the company is making false claims about this unit. I am not certain that I can get my money back, but I am going to file a claim with the better business bureau. I welcome any comments to my review.

Don't be fooled, this unit barely cools the room...

Weakness: It doesn't cool well, at all.

Don't let the 1 good review and the lack other reviews fool you. I bought one of these units yesterday and returned it today. It barely made a difference in a 25'x30' room in 24 hours using the 2 exhaust hose method (the maximum cooling configuration). The room with the air conditioner was only 7 degrees cooler than the rooms that didn't have air conditioning. I then moved it to a 12'x12' room to get 10 degrees difference. tried to call their help line (1-888-876-5387) that was busy the 10 times I called it over 1.5 days. I went to the FAQ site and the one of the items was "6. The store will not refund my money. Can I send my product to you?", the answer was "NO". So now I was really worried, I paid $599 for the item. I then read the Consumer Reports article that stated to "Watch out for Portables" that their btu ratings are way off and you would be lucky to get half their rating worth of cooling power.

After taking 2 hours to try and put it back in the box correctly (they definitely made it hard to repackage), I went to return it, the sale person tried to give me the "Once it is open you own it" line, but then I asked to talk to the manager, he told the sale person to take it back and didn't even talk to me. I later found out that a lot of these units have been returned and it was going to be 100 degrees out again today, so you know that there must be a big problem.

It is sad when things like this happen, so I am trying to spread the word and, as always, buyer beware. Make sure you know the return policy, if you dare and venture to get one of these types of units.

wrost product and worst company

Strengths: none

Weakness: Be aware of any rpdocuts from this company!!. Product, customer service, everything, worst ever!!

I must agree everything what previous comment was. Product happened to be defective from the first day I recived. Numerous unanswered customer service. Stupid thing, I also bought the soleus air fan. That happend to be defective. I will try to follow exactly as the previous messenger to file the complain.

After a slow start-up...works great

Strengths: Doesn't throw heat into the air - very quiet - empties easily.

Weakness: None, that I know of.

After a false start - (without getting much water) - the weather got hotter here in MN & it works fantastically! I wouldn't trade this one for my old "heat-pushing" unit I had before that was so loud too! Very satisfied customer!

This unit is almost useless

Weakness: Simply will not cool a room.

I have this in a 20 x 12 ft room. It's only use is to sit right in front of the unit where you can feel cool air. I wish I had listened to the other negative reviews that are essentially saying the same thing. But I saw a few positive reviews and went ahead and bought it.When people tell you it won't cool a room, listen. If there is anyway you can get a window unit, do it.
